World Forum for Democracy 2026 Youth Delegation
The Council of Europe invites young leaders to join the 2026 Youth Delegation for the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg, France. Selected participants will engage in discussions centered around democratic security and the New Democratic Pact for Europe.

Overview
The World Forum for Democracy 2026 Youth Delegation, organized by the Council of Europe Youth Department, brings together up to 50 young participants in Strasbourg, France. The 14th edition explores the theme “Rupture or Renewal? Democratic Security for Our Future” under the umbrella of the New Democratic Pact for Europe. The initiative encompasses online preparation running from September to October 2026, followed by a physical programme from 30 October to 5 November 2026, which includes pre-event training, main Forum sessions, and Youth Day.
Benefits
This initiative is fully funded by the Council of Europe. Supported expenses include travel, visa fees, accommodation, and meals provided at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg.
Eligibility
- Aged between 18 and 30 years old.
- Proficient in working autonomously in English.
- Active within a youth organization or movement focused on democracy, youth participation, or innovative democratic practices, with the capacity to implement follow-up activities in their community.
- Available for the complete project timeline, including online preparations and the live event in Strasbourg.
- Prior engagement with the Council of Europe youth sector or European Youth Foundation grantees serves as a favorable asset.
