The World Bank Group Young Professionals Program is a flagship leadership development initiative for exceptional early-career professionals passionate about global development.

Overview
The World Bank Group Young Professionals Program (YPP) offers talented professionals the opportunity to build technical expertise, gain international experience, and contribute to projects addressing global development challenges. The initiative includes an initial start at headquarters followed by field rotations, tailored training, mentorship, and opportunities to engage with senior leaders across the World Bank, IFC, and MIGA.
Candidates may apply under two distinct tracks:
- Operations
- Specialized Functions
The curriculum features three mandatory rotations of eight months each, covering your primary function, a cross-institutional role, and at least one country office placement.
Eligibility
- Education: Minimum graduate-level degree or higher qualification in a relevant field, completed before the September start date.
- Professional Experience: 2 to 6 years of professional experience in a related work area (full-time doctoral research may count towards this requirement).
- Nationality: Must hold citizenship in a World Bank Group member country.
- Language: Excellent command of spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Employment Status: Must not be a current World Bank Group employee or have a close relative working at the institution in a supervisory conflict.
