World Bank Small AI Hackathon 2026 (Fully Funded Trip to Seoul)
Young innovators aged 18 to 35 can apply for the World Bank Small AI Hackathon 2026 to create practical artificial intelligence solutions for developing economies. Winners will receive a fully funded trip to Seoul, South Korea.

Overview
The World Bank Small AI Hackathon 2026 invites young innovators to develop practical artificial intelligence solutions that operate effectively in environments with limited connectivity and resources. Rather than massive general-purpose models, the challenge focuses on targeted technologies such as local AI models, voice and SMS tools, sensors, microcontrollers, predictive or generative AI, and autonomous agents.
Participants can tackle challenges across three core sectors: Health, Agriculture, and Tourism. Three total winners will be chosen, with one winner representing each category. Winners will be invited to attend the Global AI & Digital Summit 2026 in Seoul, South Korea, taking place from October 3 to October 4, 2026.
Eligibility
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of application.
- Must be a citizen or resident of a World Bank member country, with a strong encouragement for applicants from emerging economies.
- Can apply either as an individual or in teams consisting of up to four members, where every individual registers separately.
- Must submit the application and entry in English and participate in only one competition entry.
