The University of Edinburgh MasterCard Scholarship provides fully funded opportunities for exceptional young Africans. It supports either a one-year on-campus postgraduate taught Master’s degree or an online postgraduate diploma. Eligibility
- Must be a citizen, resident, or refugee in an African country
- Hold a minimum of a UK Second Class (Upper) Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
- Be aged 35 or under (born on or after 1 January 1992 for the 2027/28 intake)
- Must not have previously completed a postgraduate degree (applies to Master’s applicants)
- Demonstrate community leadership, service, and experience or ambition in addressing the climate crisis
How to Apply
- Check postgraduate entry requirements and explore eligible on-campus or online degree programmes.
- Attend a mandatory virtual information session between 15 and 24 September 2026.
- Receive an invitation to apply by 13 October 2026.
- Complete and submit the Applicant Declaration Form by 19 October 2026.
- Submit the Scholarship Main Application along with required documents, such as transcripts and degree certificates, by 19 November 2026.
