Overview
The University of Bonn in Germany is inviting applications for 12 Research Associate positions within the DFG Research Training Group 3125, “Reconciliation and its Equivalents in a Transcultural Comparison.” These doctoral research positions offer successful candidates an opportunity to undertake a PhD within an interdisciplinary and international research environment while being employed as research associates at the University of Bonn.
The positions are scheduled to commence on February 1, 2027, and will be offered on fixed-term contracts running until January 31, 2031. Successful applicants will be employed at 65% and remunerated according to TV-L pay grade 13 (Entgeltgruppe 13).
Eligibility
- Applicants must possess a university degree completed with above-average results, such as a Master’s degree, a State Examination, or an equivalent qualification.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include history, law, social sciences, anthropology, cultural studies, peace and conflict studies, Jewish studies, religious studies, heritage and museum studies, and reconciliation studies.
- Applicants must demonstrate an interest in interdisciplinary work and teamwork.
- English-language proficiency of at least B2 level is required, or C1 level for candidates intending to write their dissertation in English (proof may be submitted after employment if necessary).
