UNESCO has opened a call for proposals inviting global organizations to submit parallel session ideas for the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development in Nairobi, Kenya.

Overview
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), alongside the Government of Kenya, is hosting the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Nairobi, Kenya, from 13–15 January 2027. The event acts as a key milestone to accelerate global action on sustainable education, gather international stakeholders, and shape priorities for the ESD for 2030 Framework and beyond.
Selected organizations will have the chance to co-organize thematic parallel sessions lasting up to 90 minutes. These sessions will promote international collaboration, present practical solutions, and showcase successful education initiatives across themes like green skills, technological innovation, social-emotional learning, inclusive education, and global partnerships.
Eligibility
Proposals are welcomed from a wide range of global ESD stakeholders and organizations, including:
- United Nations agencies and international organizations
- Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and NGOs
- Academic institutions, universities, and research centers
- Private sector organizations
- Government institutions and UNESCO Member States
- Regional organizations and multi-stakeholder partnerships
