Overview
The UNDP Early Warning Internship 2026 is a remote six-month opportunity with the United Nations Development Programme's Disaster Risk Reduction and Recovery for Building Resilience Team. The selected intern assists with research, communications, knowledge management, digital and AI-enabled applications, and the Preparedness Learning Pathway.
Benefits
- A monthly stipend is provided to interns who do not receive financial support from any other institution or programme, determined by UNDP duty-station rates.
- UNDP may cover the difference if an intern receives partial external financial support.
- Interns accrue combined sick and annual leave at applicable monthly rates.
Eligibility
- Enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (Master's or higher) in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, disaster management, or humanitarian affairs; OR
- Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor's or equivalent) in one of those fields; OR
- Recently graduated with a university degree in a relevant area and able to start within one year of graduation; OR
- Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program undertaking the internship as part of that curriculum.
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills in English, good ICT competencies, and fluency in written and spoken English (knowledge of another UN language is an asset).
