Overview
The United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA) Graduate Fellows Program (GFP) 2027 is designed for graduate students in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia region. The initiative offers participants the opportunity to deepen their understanding of United Nations issues, policies, organizations, and global affairs while developing professional networks relevant to international careers.
Selected Fellows commit approximately four hours per week during the spring semester, which includes attending in-person Friday seminars, preparing assignments, engaging in career strategy, and receiving mentorship. The curriculum addresses major thematic areas such as economic development, UN budget and finance, gender, human rights, energy, sustainable development, climate change, conflict prevention, peacekeeping, refugees, and migration.
