Overview

The Next Move is a multi-year general support funding opportunity under the United by Sport program, designed for nonprofit and grassroots organizations that use sport and physical activity to tackle gender-based violence, discrimination, exclusion, and harmful gender norms. The initiative aims to build safer, more inclusive, and cohesive communities by strengthening organizations that use sport as a vehicle for social impact.

Selected organizations can receive €150,000, €200,000, or €250,000 distributed equally over a 36-month partnership, with a total funding pool of €2 million. The partnership is expected to begin in Q1 2027.

Eligibility

  • Must be legally registered as a non-governmental organization or equivalent for charitable or public-benefit purposes.
  • Must be operational for at least two years in the country of implementation.
  • Must be legally permitted to receive foreign charitable funding.
  • Must implement activities in Brazil, Colombia, or Argentina, with each application focusing on a single country.
  • Must use sport or physical activity as a core vehicle for social impact and community development.
  • Must meet specific annual income requirements proportionate to the requested grant amount.
  • Must have appropriate governance oversight, financial controls, and documented safeguarding policies.

How to Apply

Eligible organizations must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the online application form. The application process includes eligibility screening, organizational details, and required document uploads. English is the working language throughout the application process, and unofficial translations are accepted at the EOI stage.

Shortlisted organizations will proceed to a full application stage which may involve self-assessments, first-year plans, budgets, and interviews.
