The American University in Cairo offers the Swiss Fellowship for Inclusive Development to support eligible graduate students pursuing a diploma in public policy or public administration. The award provides tuition and fee assistance alongside practical work with the Public Policy HUB.

Overview
The Swiss Fellowship for Inclusive Development (SFID) at The American University in Cairo (AUC) provides substantial tuition and fee support for academically strong students undertaking graduate-diploma study. Recipients enroll full-time in either the Graduate Diploma in Public Policy or the Graduate Diploma in Public Administration. Credits earned can also count toward a subsequent Master of Public Policy or Master of Public Administration degree at AUC.
In addition to academic coursework, fellows undertake a structured weekly work commitment with AUC’s Public Policy HUB, connecting classroom learning with practical policy research and engagement.

Eligibility
- Must be an Egyptian national, or a refugee residing in Egypt who is of Yemeni, Palestinian, Syrian, or Sudanese nationality.
- Must satisfy AUC’s full graduate admission requirements and demonstrate an excellent academic record.
- Must commit to maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and fulfilling at least 12 working hours each week with the Public Policy HUB.
How to Apply
Applicants must complete a two-step application process involving both graduate admission and fellowship forms:
- Submit the AUC Graduate Admission Application: Review university admission instructions, prepare transcripts, statements of purpose, CVs, recommendation letters, and English-proficiency test results, then apply through the AUC online application portal.
- Submit the Online Fellowship Application: Complete the separate fellowship application through the link provided on the official SFID listing.
Deadline
The nearest published deadline for the Spring 2027 fellowship cycle is November 2, 2026. AUC also offers Fall 2027 cycles with deadlines on January 17, 2027, and May 6, 2027.
