The Scottish Government has launched the Global Solidarity Fund (GSF) to support international development, institutional strengthening, and global citizenship. Eligible Scottish-based organizations can apply for grants ranging from £2,000 to £50,000 across three distinct funding streams.

Overview
The Scottish Government has introduced the Global Solidarity Fund (GSF) to expand Scotland’s contribution to international development and global citizenship. The programme aims to lower traditional access barriers for smaller organizations, community groups, and diaspora-led initiatives by offering flexible financial assistance. Funding is categorized into three specific streams:
- Scottish Civil Society Organisation (CSO) Strengthening Grant: Up to £10,000 to improve internal systems, governance, and operational capacity for CSOs working in countries with medium or low levels of development.
- Global Citizenship Engagement Grant: Up to £5,000 for small charities and social enterprises (or up to £2,000 for unaffiliated groups) to increase public awareness and education on global issues.
- Shifting the Power Grant: Up to £50,000 to support collaborative, locally led partnerships between Scottish organizations and partners in Malawi, Zambia, and Rwanda.
Eligibility
The programme welcomes first-time applicants and organizations with limited public funding experience. Eligible entities include:

- Diaspora-led organizations
- Scottish international NGOs
