Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Candidates must be nationals of FAO Member nations.
- Education: Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a bona fide educational institution at the time of application, or be recent graduates. Those studying where higher education is not divided into stages must have completed at least three years of full-time studies.
- Languages: Working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is required. Knowledge of a second official language is considered an asset.
- Age: Candidates should be between 21 and 30 years old at the start of the internship.
- Skills: Applicants must adapt well to multicultural environments, possess good communication skills, and know how to use basic computer programs.
- Residence/Visa: Candidates must hold appropriate residence or immigration status in their duty station country prior to the start of the assignment.
- Family Relation: Individuals with close family members (defined as a mother, father, brother, or sister) employed by FAO under any contract type are ineligible.
Benefits
Selected interns receive a monthly stipend in local currency, not exceeding US$700, to help cover living expenses in their duty station. Sponsored interns may receive financial support directly from their sponsoring institutions.
