The OECD Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs (ELS) is offering a research-oriented internship within the Jobs and Income Division at OECD headquarters in Paris, France. The role provides an opportunity to work alongside economists on research examining labour shortages, workers' preferences, and other comparative labour market topics.
The successful candidate will contribute to a new research project examining persistent labour shortages in certain occupations and sectors using an original survey incorporating a discrete choice experiment. Responsibilities may include developing and testing the survey, working with survey companies, and analyzing collected data using quantitative and econometric methods. The internship has a minimum duration of four months, with extensions up to six months, and is expected to begin in mid- to late October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Eligibility
- Must be a national of an OECD member country.
- Must be enrolled in a full-time graduate degree programme (such as a PhD or final-year Master's programme) in economics or a closely related field throughout the entire internship.
- Must be available for at least four months.
- Must have an excellent command of English and strong writing, drafting, and communication skills.
- Must possess solid quantitative research abilities and familiarity with statistical or econometric software such as Stata, R, or Python.
- Knowledge of German is considered a strong advantage.
