Overview
The Fellowship for Emerging Leaders in Public Service (FELPS) 2027 is a leadership development initiative hosted by the New York University (NYU) Changemaker Center. Designed for early-career professionals working full-time in public service in the New York City area, the program helps participants strengthen leadership skills, expand professional networks, and shape long-term careers without leaving their jobs. The 2027 Fellowship runs from November 2026 through May 2027.

Eligibility
- Have graduated from an undergraduate institution within approximately the last two to four years and possess two to four years of full-time professional work experience.
- Hold a full-time paid public service position in the New York City area and remain employed in public service throughout the fellowship.
- Be physically located within commuting distance of lower Manhattan to attend all required sessions and mandatory orientation in person.
- Not generally have already completed an advanced professional degree.

Applicants must complete the online application, submit a resume and a short personal statement, and have their current direct supervisor complete an online recommendation form.
Deadline
All completed applications, including supervisor recommendations, must be submitted by 12:00 PM EST on September 24, 2026.
