Nishimura Scholarship 2027 in Japan | Fully Funded

Overview
The Nishimura Scholarship supports Indonesian Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) alumni to pursue Master’s or PhD studies in Japan commencing in April 2027. Funded by the Nishimura Foundation, the opportunity requires candidates to secure a prospective Japanese academic supervisor and apply to a participating university.
Benefits
- Monthly stipend of JPY 130,000 paid every three months.
- Support period for Master’s candidates is up to 2 years, and up to 3 years for PhD candidates.
- One-time arrival allowance of JPY 150,000 after arriving in Japan.
Eligibility
- Must be an Indonesian citizen.
- Must be an alumnus or alumna of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB).
- Plan to begin a Master’s or PhD program in April 2027.
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 (PhD applicants generally require a Master’s GPA of at least 3.50).
- Must have a prospective academic supervisor and obtain a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from them.
- Demonstrate financial need and willingness to learn Japanese or possess Japanese-language ability.
- Commit to on-campus study in Japan rather than online.
How to Apply
Candidates must verify eligibility, select a participating Japanese university, contact a prospective supervisor to obtain an LoA, prepare a research proposal alongside necessary academic and recommendation documents, and complete the submission process prior to the deadline.
