Overview
The NCTU Scholarship offers international graduate applicants financial support and various benefit packages for studying at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) / National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan. Available programs span multiple academic divisions, including computer science, engineering, management, science, and humanities.
Benefits
- Bachelor Degree Scholarship: Up to NT$21,000 per month monthly stipend and/or tuition waiver.
- Master Degree Scholarship: University tuition fee waivers and a monthly stipend of NT$22,000, alongside potential research assistantships.
- Doctoral Degree Scholarship: Tuition fee waivers and a monthly stipend of NT$29,000, alongside potential research assistantships.
- MOFA Scholarship: Monthly stipend of NT$30,000 and one direct round-trip economy-class ticket.
- MOE Scholarship: Waiver of tuition and certain fees at participating universities.
Eligibility
- International applicants of any nationality outside of Taiwan are eligible.
- Candidates must be in good physical and mental health.
- Applicants cannot be recipients of any other concurrent scholarships.
- Must provide the correct, complete educational credentials required for the target level: a high school diploma for undergraduate study, a bachelor's degree for master's programs, or a master's degree for doctoral programs.
How to Apply
Candidates must complete the following steps to submit an application:
- Check the official website for specific program offerings and requirements.
- Complete the online application form accurately through the university portal and select “NCTU Scholarship” during the admission process for scholarship consideration.
- Prepare all required materials, including your highest degree diploma with official stamps, transcripts, two recommendation letters from teachers or advisors, a valid passport copy, a study plan in Chinese or English, and English language proof if applicable.
- PhD applicants must also submit an academic thesis or relevant publications.
- Ensure all required documents are submitted prior to the deadline, as late or incomplete submissions are not accepted.
