The Nature Restoration Academy 2026 is a capacity-building initiative designed to bridge the gap between environmental science, public policy, and hands-on aquatic restoration. Organized by the SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth and funded by EIT Water, the curriculum addresses the recovery of rivers, lakes, wetlands, coastal ecosystems, and seas. The programme is split into three main components:
- Online Baseline Session: A virtual introductory session held on October 6, 2026, to establish a shared foundation across participants.
- In-Person Training Event: A two-day intensive workshop in Berlin, Germany, on October 29–30, 2026, featuring expert lectures, case studies, interactive workshops, and a multi-stakeholder negotiation simulation.
- Online Restoration Module: Recorded content from the Berlin sessions will expand an existing FutureLearn course for wider international access.
