Mundus MAPP 2027–2029: Fully Funded Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Public Policy for European and International Students

Overview

The Mundus MAPP 2027–2029 is a 24-month, full-time in-person Erasmus Mundus Master's Programme in Public Policy delivered across leading institutions in Austria, Spain, the Netherlands, and the UK. Designed to prepare future academic and policy leaders, the curriculum combines a common core of policy studies with specialized mobility tracks, study visits, internships, and research work.

Applicants may choose one of four distinct study tracks:

  • CEU-IBEI Track: Global Public Policy (Austria and Spain)
  • CEU-York Track: European Public Policy (Austria and the UK)
  • ISS-IBEI Track: Political Economy and Development (the Netherlands and Spain)
  • ISS-York Track: Governance and Development (the Netherlands and the UK)

Benefits

Successful candidates considered for financial aid can receive the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) scholarship:

  • A maximum financial support package of €33,600 over 24 months, distributed as a €1,400 monthly stipend.
  • A full tuition-fee waiver for the entire 26,000-euro programme duration.
  • Additional institutional scholarships offering a 50 percent tuition fee waiver per track are also available without a monthly stipend.

Eligibility

The programme is open to both European and third-country national students who satisfy the minimum academic and administrative criteria:

  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree comprising at least three years of study from a recognized institution with a Class 2.1 or Upper Second classification, or a minimum GPA of 3.17 out of 4.0.
  • Degrees in social sciences or equivalent are given preference; candidates with natural sciences or engineering degrees are ineligible.
  • Compulsory physical mobility requires completing study periods in two different countries outside of the applicant's country of residence at the time of application.
  • English language proficiency must be demonstrated unless exempted by citizenship or prior English-medium degrees.

How to Apply

Admissions are administered centrally by Central European University Private University. Prospective students must submit their complete documentation online through the official application portal for their chosen track.

Required application components include:

  • An online application form for a single mobility track.
  • Two official recommendation letters submitted through the automated reference system within seven days of application submission.
  • Electronic academic transcripts and diploma certificates with official English translations.
  • A Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume, including publications if applicable.
  • A statement of purpose restricted to a maximum of 500 words.
  • Proof of English proficiency test scores, where required.

Deadline

Applications for scholarship consideration must be finalized by December 1, 2026. Non-scholarship deadlines extend to April 15, 2027, for non-EU/EEA residents, and July 1, 2027, for EU/EEA residents.
