Overview
The MRC CoRE in Exposome Immunology scholarship supports a fully funded PhD programme investigating how environmental exposures at mucosal barriers shape the immune system and drive chronic inflammatory diseases such as asthma, COPD, and IBD. Delivered by the MRC Centre of Research Excellence in partnership with The University of Manchester and the University of Oxford, the programme provides cross-institution supervision, bespoke training, and cohort-based research opportunities for 2027/28 entry.

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to both UK and international applicants.
- Candidates must hold or be on track to obtain a First or Upper Second class UK honours degree, or an equivalent international qualification in a relevant field.
- A master’s degree is not a requirement for admission.
