Overview
The Max Planck Matter to Life Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (MtL-URO) 2027 is a fully funded research internship hosted in Germany. Selected students spend 10 weeks between June and November 2027 working within a Matter to Life faculty laboratory, gaining practical scientific experience across participating German locations such as Munich, Heidelberg, Göttingen, Dresden, and others.

Eligibility
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Bachelor's degree program
- Must remain enrolled throughout the entire duration of the 10-week internship
- Must have completed at least 1.5 semesters by the time of application and at least two semesters by the start of the internship
- Minimum GPA requirement of 1.7
- Academic background in biology, chemistry, physics, informatics, materials science, engineering, bioengineering, or a related discipline
- A genuine interest in research within the Matter to Life field

Applicants must prepare a maximum two-page CV, a current university transcript, a one-page personal statement indicating their preferred Matter to Life laboratory, and their available timeframe for the 10-week internship. Applications are submitted online through the official portal.
