Eligibility
- Must be a citizen and resident of an African country, unless temporarily absent for study or work (exceptions apply for refugees and internally displaced persons).
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree and meet the academic entry requirements of the chosen course.
- Must apply for an eligible full-time one-year master’s course (excluding Master of Business Administration, Master of Corporate Law, Master of Finance, and Master of Accountancy).
- Demonstrated commitment to community give-back and the themes of sustainability and climate resilience.
How to Apply
Candidates must first find an eligible course via the postgraduate course directory, check entry requirements, and start their course application online. Applicants should opt in for funding during the application process to select the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and submit a scholarship statement detailing their career history, leadership potential, and vision for sustainable futures in Africa.
Depending on nationality, applicants may be eligible for an automatic application fee waiver or may need to submit an application fee request form using the provided waiver form link by 18 November 2026.
Deadline
The funding deadline depends on the chosen course, typically falling in early December or early January.
