The Mama Cash Spark Fund 2026 is a flexible grant programme designed to support self-led feminist initiatives working for the rights of women, girls, trans people, and intersex people. The programme targets grassroots groups operating in the Netherlands and the ABCSSS islands, which include Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten. Successful applicants can receive between €5,000 and €12,000 to fund projects lasting up to two years. The fund places a strong emphasis on groups addressing urgent and contested political issues and pushing for structural and systemic change.
Eligibility
To qualify for the Spark Fund, applicants must satisfy core criteria reflecting feminist and grassroots values:
- Self-Led: The group must be directed and led by the women, girls, trans people, and/or intersex people it serves.
- Feminist Perspective: Work must challenge sexism, patriarchal norms, and inequality while defending human rights.
- Urgent Issues: Projects must focus on urgent and contested political issues within the eligible regions.
- Systemic Change: Initiatives should aim for broader structural and systemic change rather than addressing immediate needs alone.
Notably, formal registration, an organisational bank account, official identification, and a residence permit are not required to submit an application. Mama Cash grants special priority to informal collectives, newly established initiatives, volunteer-led groups, and those with limited access to conventional institutional funding.
