The Japan's Friendship Ties Program "MIRAI" 2026 offers eligible university students and young professionals from Georgia a short-term exchange experience in Japan under the thematic focus of "AI Startup." The program is scheduled to take place in Japan from December 1 to December 7, 2026. The initiative aims to deepen participants' understanding of Japan, promote intellectual exchange with Japanese students and experts, build international networks, and lay the foundation for future cooperation.
Eligibility
Candidates must satisfy the specific demographic, professional, and regional requirements established for the Georgian application route:
- Must be undergraduate students, graduate students, or young professionals.
- Must be between 20 and 30 years of age.
- Must have a connection with Georgia and meet nationality, institutional, or residence conditions.
- Must possess sufficient English proficiency to engage actively in lectures, workshops, and discussions.

How to Apply
Applicants must complete their submissions through the official online platform and upload all required supporting documents. The required documentation includes:
- A clear, complete, and legible copy of a valid passport photo page.
- A fully signed and complete Letter of Understanding (all pages).
- A signed personal information and GDPR privacy policy document.
- An academic transcript, certificate of enrollment, or certificate of employment depending on current student or professional status.
- A recent headshot photograph taken within the previous three months.
