The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) invites applications for its one-year paid internship based at the IPU Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Designed for individuals interested in parliamentary affairs, international relations, democracy, and multilateral cooperation, the role involves supporting the administrative and substantive functions of a specific service or division within the organization.
Selected interns work a 100% contract based on a 37.5-hour working week and receive a monthly stipend of CHF 1,500. While primarily based at headquarters, alternative working arrangements such as telecommuting may occasionally be available depending on the assigned division.
Eligibility
- Demonstrated motivation and commitment to the principles of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
- Ability to work effectively within an international and multicultural team.
- Relevant technical knowledge and prior work experience at a national or international level.
- Strong communication skills, with fluency expected in at least one of the IPU's official languages (English or French) and working knowledge of a second official language.
