Overview
forNature is recruiting a full-time Initiative Coordinator based in Panama City, Panama. The role supports the operational, strategic, institutional, and diplomatic coordination of the initiative advancing the adoption of a United Nations Universal Declaration of the Rights of Nature (UDRoN). The position acts as a central coordination hub, working closely with forNature and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Panama (MiAmbiente) to align multidisciplinary workstreams including legal, communications, diplomatic, and stakeholder engagement.
Eligibility
Applicants should possess substantial professional experience in project coordination, programme management, institutional coordination, or campaign implementation. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience preparing reports, institutional documents, and managing workplans.
- Preferred backgrounds include experience with government institutions, international organizations, civil society networks, multilateral diplomacy, United Nations processes, environmental law, and Rights of Nature frameworks.
- Additional requirements include a valid passport, a valid United States visa, availability for international travel, and strong intercultural awareness respecting Indigenous leadership systems.
