Overview
The Iceland Writers Retreat Alumni Award 2027 takes place in Reykjavík, Iceland, running from 14–18 April 2027. The five-day program features small-group writing workshops led by well-known international authors, unique panels with Icelandic authors, literary tours to experience Iceland’s nature, a literary walking tour of Reykjavík, and additional faculty readings, music, and meals.
Benefits
- Full Scholarship: Covers the participant fee, five nights’ accommodation at the retreat hotel, and round-trip flights to Iceland.
- Partial Funding: Covers the participant fee only (does not include accommodation or round-trip flights).
Eligibility
- Applicants must be aged 18 or older.
- Open to nationals and participants of all countries, backgrounds, and levels of writing experience.
- Professional writing status is not required, and IELTS is not needed, though English proficiency is necessary.
- Recipients are chosen based on writing potential/quality, writing samples, motivation, and the need for financial support.
