HWCC Conference Travel Grants 2027: Apply for Free Registration or Up to US$1,000 to Attend the Bangkok Conference
Applications are open for travel grants supporting participation in the 2nd International Conference on Human-Wildlife Conflict and Coexistence in Bangkok, Thailand. Successful candidates can receive a registration fee waiver or financial assistance of US$500 or US$1,000.

Overview
The 2nd International Conference on Human-Wildlife Conflict and Coexistence will take place from March 2–4, 2027, at the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Organized by the IUCN Species Survival Commission’s Human-Wildlife Conflict and Coexistence Specialist Group, the event convenes international professionals, researchers, community leaders, and policymakers. Limited travel grants are available to support attendance, and applicants may choose only one of three available support options:
- Free conference registration (or reimbursement if already paid)
- US$500 toward travel costs
- US$1,000 toward travel costs (geographical restrictions apply)
Eligibility
Applications are open broadly, though the organizers give priority to specific groups:
- Residents of countries not classified as high-income under World Bank classifications
- Students from any country
- Applicants who submitted an abstract for a talk, poster, or session
- Individuals included in a conference session proposal submitted by another person
Note that the US$1,000 travel support option is unavailable to applicants residing in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. These restricted applicants may still apply for free registration or the US$500 travel support.
Benefits
Successful recipients receive their chosen form of support. Registration waivers cover ticket fees or provide a refund. Travel awards of US$500 or US$1,000 are scheduled to be distributed in cash in person at the conference on March 3, 2027. Recipients should note that awards are not paid in advance of travel.
