Harvard Loeb Fellowship
The Harvard Loeb Fellowship provides mid-career practitioners focused on the built and natural environment an immersive opportunity to reflect, develop new skills, and plan the next stage of their careers.

Overview
Hosted through the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD), the Harvard Loeb Fellowship is designed for mid-career practitioners who want to step back from regular professional responsibilities to explore ideas, reflect on their experience, and build leadership capacities. The program seeks individuals whose work positively influences the places and environments where people live and work, embracing a wide range of professional backgrounds beyond traditional design disciplines.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of professional experience in their field.
- Open to diverse backgrounds such as urban designers, public artists, developers, journalists, civic leaders, architects, landscape artists, urban planners, and policymakers.
- No university degree is required, and academic transcripts are not reviewed.
- International applicants are strongly encouraged to apply, provided they can satisfy J-1 visa requirements if selected.
- There is no application fee.

How to Apply
Interested candidates must complete their submissions online through the official application portal. The application process requires:
- A completed online application form.
- A professional resume with work history dates.
- Three professional letters of recommendation submitted through the platform.
- Optional portfolios or supplemental materials illustrating professional work (up to five documents strongly encouraged).
Deadline
The main application deadline is January 5, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Recommendation letters have a separate deadline of January 12, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
