The Global Futures Scholarship supports international students from Kenya with merit-based awards that provide discounts on published international tuition fees. Administered by The University of Manchester, the programme caters to eligible undergraduate and master’s applicants starting in September 2027.
Benefits
- Undergraduate merit-based awards of up to £36,000, distributed as £12,000 per year over three years.
- Master’s awards for African students valued at £19,000.
- Discounts applied directly to published international or overseas tuition fees.
Eligibility
- Must be an international fee-paying student domiciled in Kenya, having predominantly resided there during the last three years.
- Must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2027 with accepted qualifications such as A-levels, the IB Diploma, South African NSC or IEB, NCUK International Foundation Year, or Bridge House College Foundation.
- Must be self-funded and not sponsored.
- Undergraduate applicants must select The University of Manchester as their ‘Firm’ UCAS choice by 15 May 2027.
- Master’s applicants must hold an unconditional offer for a full-time, on-campus course starting in September 2027 by 20 April 2027.
- Exclusions apply to specific courses including Medicine (MBChB), Dentistry (BDS), Architecture, integrated foundation years, blended learning, and distance learning.
How to Apply
The online application form becomes available once you have applied for an eligible course and received a conditional or unconditional offer.
- Undergraduate Round 1: For students who take examinations in 2026, apply by 25 February 2027.
- Undergraduate Round 2: General deadline for all other eligible undergraduate students is 8 April 2027.
- Master’s Deadline: Submit the online scholarship application form by 20 April 2027.
- PhD Candidates: Review individual Schools and the university’s postgraduate research funding database for competitive bursary options.

The main scholarship application deadline is 8 April 2027 for undergraduate round two, with specific earlier and alternative dates applying to round one undergraduate candidates, master’s applicants, and UCAS choice milestones.
