Fully Funded DKFZ PhD Position 2026 in Translational Cancer Biology at LMU Munich

Overview
The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is accepting applications for a fully funded PhD position in Translational Cancer Biology at the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK) partner site in Munich, Germany. Based at LMU Klinikum Großhadern, the three-year doctoral project investigates the molecular mechanisms driving the progression, metastasis, and therapy resistance of small cell lung cancer.
The successful candidate will combine experimental cancer biology with functional genomics, advanced disease models, and computational analysis of large-scale sequencing data. The selected researcher will also join the DKFZ International PhD Program to receive structured doctoral training and professional development.
Eligibility
- Hold a master’s degree in molecular medicine, human biology, biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, cancer biology, biotechnology, or another closely related life-science discipline.
- Possess practical laboratory experience in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in translational cancer research, gene regulation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Show proficiency in written and spoken English.
