Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of an eligible country or territory across the United States, the Pacific Region, Southeast Asia, South Asia, or East Asia.
- Candidates must hold a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited U.S. institution or a recognized international higher education institution prior to the fellowship start date.
- Generally, a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent) is required across the last four semesters or six quarters of undergraduate study and any post-baccalaureate work.
- Participants must satisfy all graduate admission requirements set by the University of Hawai'i.
How to Apply
Candidates must submit their submissions through the online application portal. The application pathway depends on current enrollment status:
- Current University of Hawai'i Students: Apply directly to the East-West Center alongside all required documentation.
- Non-UH Students: Apply to the University of Hawai'i first, and then submit an application to the EWC supported by proof of the UH application submission and necessary documents.
Required documentation generally includes a curriculum vitae (CV) or resume, a passport biography page, a graduate program statement of objectives, and admission proof where applicable.
