EU No Child Left Behind Grant 2026: Up to €1 Million for NGOs Supporting Children with Disabilities in Egypt
The European Union invites eligible nonprofit organisations to apply for grants ranging from €650,000 to €1 million to advance the rights and inclusion of children with disabilities in Egypt.

Overview
The European Union has opened a call for proposals titled “No Child Left Behind: Inclusion and Protection for Children with Disabilities” under reference EuropeAid/186723/DD/ACT/EG. The programme aims to advance the rights, protection, participation, and well-being of children with disabilities in Egypt by moving beyond a narrow service-delivery model into comprehensive rights-based interventions.
The overall budget for the programme is approximately €3.9 million, with individual grants ranging from €650,000 to €1 million. Projects are expected to run for 24 to 36 months, and the EU grant may cover between 51% and 95% of total eligible costs. A key requirement of the programme is that at least 60% of eligible action costs must be dedicated to financial support for third parties, such as local civil society organisations, community-based organisations, and organisations of persons with disabilities.
Applicants must address at least one of the following priority areas, though proposals integrating multiple priorities are viewed favourably:
- Human rights and protection of children with disabilities
- Social inclusion and participation
- Family and enabling environments
Eligibility
Eligible lead applicants must be nonprofit legal entities established in Egypt, an EU Member State, or a contracting party to the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement. International lead applicants that are not established in Egypt are required to apply alongside at least one co-applicant established in Egypt. Individuals and for-profit commercial companies are not eligible to apply as lead applicants.
How to Apply
Applicants must consult the official EU Funding & Tenders Portal and review the complete guidelines, eligibility rules, and application documents associated with reference EuropeAid/186723/DD/ACT/EG before submitting their proposals.
