East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship 2026–2027: Apply for Graduate Study at the University of Hawai‘i
Eligible students from the United States and selected Asia-Pacific regions can apply for the East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship to pursue graduate study at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. The application deadline is December 1, 2026.

Overview
The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship supports students pursuing advanced academic training at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Through an international competition, the fellowship brings together scholars from the United States, the Pacific, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and East Asia to study in fields relevant to the East-West Center's mission.
Eligibility
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of a designated eligible country or territory in the United States, Pacific region, Southeast Asia, South Asia, or East Asia.
- Must hold a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited U.S. institution or a recognized foreign university.
- Generally required to have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for the final undergraduate semesters or quarters and all post-baccalaureate coursework.
How to Apply
Candidates must manage two distinct parallel tracks: applying for the fellowship and applying for admission to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa if not already enrolled as a classified graduate student. Applicants must utilize the designated academic and civic engagement reference forms provided by the East-West Center.
