DAFI Scholarship Programme 2026/2027 in Rwanda: Fully Funded Undergraduate Scholarships for Refugees and Asylum Seekers
Eligible refugees and asylum seekers in Rwanda can apply for the fully funded UNHCR DAFI Scholarship Programme to pursue undergraduate degrees and vocational qualifications for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Overview
The UNHCR Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative (DAFI) Scholarship Programme provides fully funded higher education opportunities for qualified refugees and asylum seekers in Rwanda. The scholarship supports undergraduate Bachelor's degrees (ISCED Level 6) and accredited technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programmes lasting two years or more (ISCED Level 5). In addition to funding, scholars receive ongoing academic monitoring, mentorship, and opportunities to build leadership, professional, and community engagement skills.

Eligibility
- Must be a recognized refugee or asylum seeker living in Rwanda
- Must demonstrate strong academic performance
- Must have been admitted to a university in Rwanda and provide proof of admission
- Must not currently be receiving another higher education scholarship
- Must not have been approved for resettlement to a third country
- Restricted to one member per family applying or receiving the scholarship
Special consideration and encouragement are given to female applicants and persons with disabilities or special educational needs.
How to Apply
Applicants must complete the online application form and upload all mandatory supporting documents before the closing date. Required documentation includes a UNHCR Proof of Registration, an official or certified high school diploma copy, a university admission letter or acceptance proof from a Rwandan university, and an equivalence certificate issued by the Ministry of Education.
