D-Prize Competition 2026: Win Up to $20,000 to Launch a Social Enterprise Distributing Proven Poverty Solutions

Overview

The D-Prize Competition 2026 is designed for social entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers who want to establish new organizations dedicated to distributing evidence-based interventions to underserved communities. Rather than funding product invention, the programme focuses on closing last-mile delivery gaps in sectors such as global health, education, agriculture, livelihoods, water, and public services. Selected participants receive seed capital to launch a pilot, test their distribution models, and build scalable operations capable of helping thousands or millions of people.

Benefits

  • Seed funding of up to US$20,000 to support early-stage implementation and pilot operations.
  • Opportunities to test distribution models, build local partnerships, and refine organizational approaches.
  • A pathway to position new social enterprises for future fundraising and large-scale growth.

Eligibility

The competition primarily prioritizes new organizations and early-stage founders:

New Organizations: Most awardees are first-time entrepreneurs who have not yet launched their proposed organization or raised substantial outside funding.
Existing Organizations: Existing entities may be considered only if their core focus is distributing an evidence-based poverty intervention, provided they have no more than 18 months of full-time operations and have not raised more than US$30,000.
Geographic Focus: Applications are strongly encouraged from entrepreneurs based in low- and middle-income countries.

How to Apply

Applicants should select an appropriate challenge from the official D-Prize challenge list and download the corresponding application packet before applying. The submission process unfolds across several key phases:

  • Round 1: Submit a two-page concept note and the résumé of the applicant or founding team.
  • Round 2: Top candidates are invited to answer a set of short written questions.
  • Final Round: Finalist entrepreneurs participate in phone and email interviews before award decisions are finalized.

Deadline

The D-Prize Global Competition 2026 features multiple submission windows:

  • Early Submission Deadline: 25 October 2026 at midnight Pacific Time
  • Regular Submission Deadline: 15 November 2026 at midnight Pacific Time
  • Extension Deadline: 6 December 2026 at midnight Pacific Time
