Czech Republic Small-Scale Development Projects 2027: Apply for Up to CZK 500,000 in Development Funding
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria has opened applications for Small-Scale Development Projects 2027, offering funding to eligible organisations in nine African countries. Successful applicants can receive between CZK 200,000 and CZK 500,000 for practical, community-focused development initiatives.
Overview
The Small-Scale Development Projects (SSP) 2027 is an annual call for proposals administered by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria. It forms part of the Development Cooperation of the Czech Republic and supports locally driven initiatives that address national development priorities, focusing particularly on skills development, community development, and job creation.
Eligible projects must be implemented between March and October 2027, and all funds must be fully accounted for by 15 October 2027.
Benefits
Successful projects receive a financial contribution ranging from CZK 200,000 to CZK 500,000. Co-financing from other sources is desirable but optional.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be non-governmental and non-political organisations.
- Must possess legal personality in the country of project implementation.
- Must be eligible to enter into a contract with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
- Must operate in one of the eligible countries: Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Lesotho, Namibia, or South Africa.
- Must provide at least three reference letters or documentation demonstrating previous implementation of similar development projects.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted in English and must include the following required documentation:
- Two copies of the completed SSP Identification Form: one stamped, signed, and scanned as a PDF, and the second in its original XLSX format.
- Official documentation proving the organisation's legal status.
- A document confirming authorisation for the designated project manager.
- A copy of the project manager's ID or passport.
- At least three reference letters or documents verifying previous development project experience.
