The 5th International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA 2026) will take place from 23–27 November 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, focusing on health security, sovereignty, and resilience across the continent.

Overview
The 5th International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA 2026) is Africa CDC's flagship annual conference, co-hosted with the Government of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa. The event brings together public health leaders, researchers, policymakers, governments, private-sector actors, innovators, programme implementers, and partners. The 2026 theme is “Africa’s Health Security and Sovereignty: Transformation from health dependency and vulnerability to ownership and resilience.”
Attendees can participate in five days of high-level policy dialogue, scientific sessions, research presentations, innovation showcases, partnership development, and networking. The conference features six core scientific tracks addressing global health architecture, pandemic preparedness, sustainable health financing, primary healthcare and AI, local manufacturing, and climate resilience.
Eligibility
- Open to public health professionals, medical researchers, epidemiologists, clinicians, policy specialists, government officials, academics, and students.
- Open to private-sector representatives, civil society actors, innovators, and international development partners.
- Researchers submitting abstracts must present original work that has not been previously published.

Deadline
Early-bird conference registration closes on 22 August 2026, while the official abstract submission deadline is 15 September 2026.
