The COMSTECH Research Fellowships offer young scientists and engineers from eligible OIC least developed countries the chance to undertake 6 to 12 months of advanced research at prestigious host institutions. Supported areas include natural sciences, applied sciences, engineering, and technology.

Overview
The COMSTECH Research Fellowships provide early-career scientists, engineers, and researchers from eligible Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) least developed countries with opportunities to conduct advanced research and training at leading institutions across OIC member states. Placements typically last from 6 to 12 months, allowing fellows to integrate into established research environments, work alongside experienced mentors, and establish international scientific networks.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens of an eligible OIC least developed country or employed by a research institution in an OIC country.
- Must hold at least an M.S. or equivalent degree for graduate studies, or a Ph.D. for post-graduate research.
- Maximum age limits are 35 years for graduate studies and 45 years for post-graduate studies.
- Research topics must focus on natural sciences, applied sciences, engineering, or technology.
- Preference is given to young scientists, women researchers, and those beginning their scientific careers in least developed OIC countries.
How to Apply
Applicants must compile their documentation and submit materials directly to COMSTECH Headquarters. Required documents include:
- Completed official fellowship application form.
- Scanned copy of a valid passport.
- Curriculum vitae of no more than five pages.
- Supporting statement from the Head of the applicant's Home Institution.
- Two reference letters from senior scientists (excluding the Head of the Home Institution).
- Copies of relevant university transcripts, M.S. degrees, and Ph.D. certificates where applicable.
