Overview

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) International Master in Public Procurement Management Scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic year provides a comprehensive postgraduate funding opportunity at the University of Rome Tor Vergata in Italy. This initiative aims to strengthen public financial management and modernize public procurement systems across the Caribbean region. The programme combines roughly four and a quarter months of classroom instruction in Rome, distance learning, a mandatory 500-hour professional internship, and a final procurement-focused dissertation.

Eligibility

  • Must be a citizen of an eligible CDB Borrowing Member Country (such as Belize, Jamaica, Guyana, Haiti, Barbados, Suriname, The Bahamas, among others).
  • Must be currently employed at the time of application and throughout the programme in a professional public procurement role within a government or eligible Caribbean public regional institution.
  • Normally required to hold a recognized Master’s-level university degree equivalent to an Italian two-year Master of Science degree (though exceptional candidates with limited experience or recent degrees may be considered by discretion).
  • Normally possess at least five years of relevant procurement experience, including a minimum of two years in public-sector procurement.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must not have any actual or perceived conflicts of interest with CDB or the University.
  • Must secure formal employer release for the in-person study period and commit to serving the employer for at least 12 months after graduation.
