The Camargo Fellowship provides research-based residencies in Cassis, France, designed to offer artists, scholars, and thinkers dedicated time, space, and community in a contemplative setting. The program supports projects across the arts and humanities, fostering creativity, experimentation, and interdisciplinary exchange. Selected fellows participate in 10-week sessions scheduled for Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.

Eligibility
The program is open internationally to applicants from diverse disciplines, categorized primarily into artists, scholars, and thinkers:
- Scholars: Generally hold a PhD or are PhD candidates finalizing dissertations, often focusing on French, Francophone, or Mediterranean cultures.
- Thinkers: Established cultural professionals actively engaged in critical thought.
- Artists: Professionals who have maintained a active practice for at least five years with a demonstrated track record of public presentation or professional recognition.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted electronically through the official online platform. Applicants are permitted to submit only one proposal; multiple submissions will result in disqualification. Required documentation includes:
- A proposal summary of up to 100 words.
- A detailed proposal narrative of up to 1,200 words.
- A 300-word rationale explaining why the fellowship and region are appropriate for the project.
- A 300-word rationale addressing why a residency is suitable at the current career or project stage.
- A current curriculum vitae limited to a maximum of three pages.
- Relevant work samples based on discipline guidelines.
- Contact details for two professional references.
