The Gender and Diversity Lab (GDLab) has launched a call for research proposals examining how regulation and fiscal policy shape economic opportunities for women and men in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Overview
The Gender and Diversity Lab (GDLab), an initiative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group in collaboration with the IDB’s Institutions for Development Sector, has launched a Call for Research Proposals on “Economic Opportunities for Women and Men: The Role of Regulation and Fiscal Policy.” The initiative seeks research that goes beyond describing gender gaps, emphasizing causal studies that determine how regulations, financial systems, fiscal policies, and labor-market reforms affect economic opportunities for women and men.
Selected studies will undergo external peer review and may receive consideration for the IDB Working Paper Series, alongside encouragement for academic publication.
Eligibility
- Geographic Focus: Research must analyze one or more of the 26 IDB borrowing member countries.
- Research Approach: Must use rigorous quantitative causal research, such as experimental, quasi-experimental, and structural models. Qualitative research is considered solely when supporting the quantitative analysis.
