The British Council TNE Grants with India 2026–27 provide funding to support UK and Indian higher education institutions in collaborating on innovative transnational education (TNE) programmes. The initiative aims to strengthen UK–India higher education collaboration, encourage interdisciplinary academic innovation, foster academia-industry engagement, and build future-ready talent pipelines in cutting-edge disciplines.
Selected partnerships receive a grant amount of £30,000 for a project duration of 17 months, with a project start date of 30 September 2026.

Eligibility
Applications must involve a three-way partnership consisting of UK higher education institutions, Indian higher education institutions, and industry partners.
- UK Institutions: Higher education providers with degree-awarding powers.
- Indian Institutions: Government-funded higher education institutions, privately funded recognized higher education institutions, universities recognized by UGC, AICTE, or other competent Indian authorities, Institutes of Eminence, and Institutes of National Importance.
- Industry Partners: Commercial organizations, startups, micro enterprises, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and large corporations operating legally within their jurisdictions.
Priority areas of focus include AI and Machine Learning, Quantum Computing, Genomics and Proteomics, Sustainable Energy, Synthetic Biology, Circular Economy-Based Research, Advanced Engineering and Robotics, Semiconductor Technologies, and Critical Minerals.
