Overview
The Berlin Mathematical School offers scholarship-supported Phase I places for the 2027 intake, providing an integrated Master’s-to-PhD pathway. The programme is a joint doctoral initiative across Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin, with strong connections to the MATH+ Cluster of Excellence.

Eligibility
- Open to students who will complete a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics by summer 2027 for Phase I entry.
- Phase II entry targets Master’s graduates who must secure independent funding for at least three years.
How to Apply
Applicants must choose between Phase I and Phase II, align their mathematical interests with BMS or MATH+ research areas, and prepare required documentation such as transcripts, degrees, a motivational statement, and reference letters. Submissions are processed through the official web portal.
Deadline
The primary application deadline for scholarship-supported Phase I places is December 1, 2026. A second application round for un-funded admission runs until April 1, 2027.
