The Berenson Fellowship at Villa I Tatti – The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies provides an exceptional residential research opportunity in Florence, Italy. Supported by The Lila Wallace – Reader’s Digest Fund, the programme encourages research exploring 'Italy in the World' by examining transnational exchanges, dialogues, and cultural relationships during the Renaissance, spanning the 14th through the 17th century. The fellowship gives special consideration to early- and mid-career scholars and welcomes global applicants from all nations, prioritizing those without regular access to research facilities in Italy.

Eligibility
- Must hold a PhD at the time of application and upload a scan of the PhD certificate.
- Must not be pursuing a second PhD at the time of application.
- Must propose a specific research project aligned with the 'Italy in the World' theme that is feasible to research in Florence.
- Must be conversant in English and familiar with Italian.
- Must commit to a full-time residential presence in the Florence area, spending at least three days per week at I Tatti.
- Cannot hold the fellowship concurrently with other awards, take on teaching positions, or work simultaneously on unrelated book or article projects.
- Must not have previously held a Term Fellowship at I Tatti (excluding prior Graduate Fellows).
