Overview

The ASEF LinkUp Program 2026 is an international cultural diplomacy initiative organized by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) in partnership with the Motovila Institute and Slovenian cultural partners. The 2026 edition takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and brings together approximately 20 participants from Asia and Europe to exchange ideas, strengthen international partnerships, and develop innovative approaches to cultural cooperation.

The programme structure includes three distinct phases:

  • Phase 1: Online Sessions – Five online sessions held between 15 October and 12 November 2026.
  • Phase 2: In-Person Lab – In-person activities from 23 to 27 November 2026 in Ljubljana, featuring workshops, interactive discussions, site visits, group projects, and networking.
  • Phase 3: Fieldbook & Community – Collaboration on the ASEF LinkUp Fieldbook and continued engagement from December 2026 to February 2027.

Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be citizens of an ASEM partner country
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Work in the arts or cultural sector (such as cultural practitioners, arts managers, curators, researchers, academics, museum professionals, or cultural organization representatives)
  • Possess at least five years of international professional experience
  • Be comfortable communicating in English
  • Be fully committed to participating in all programme phases
