AIAS-AUFF Fellowships 2027–2029: Fully Funded Research Fellowship at Aarhus University in Denmark
The Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies at Aarhus University offers up to 10 fully funded fellowships for international researchers. Successful candidates will spend 23 months conducting independent, interdisciplinary research starting in September 2027.

Overview
The AIAS-AUFF Fellowships 2027–2029, hosted by the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) at Aarhus University in Denmark, provide up to 10 fellowship opportunities for talented and curiosity-driven researchers from across the globe. Designed to foster innovative, interdisciplinary investigation, the programme offers scholars an opportunity to step away from everyday academic routines and dedicate time to independent research in an international environment.
The fellowships run for 23 months, beginning on 1 September 2027. Fellows receive a salary based on seniority under Danish collective union agreements, alongside relocation travel costs, relocation assistance, and dedicated office space at AIAS.
Eligibility
- Career Experience: Applicants must hold a PhD and possess between 2 and 10 years of post-PhD research career experience by the application deadline.
- Nationality: Open internationally to researchers of any nationality and from all academic disciplines.
- Interdisciplinary Focus: Candidates must feature an interdisciplinary research project or distinct interdisciplinary research interests.
- Collaboration: Applicants should already have or be able to identify relevant collaboration possibilities within Aarhus University.
- Mobility Requirement: Applicants must not have resided or performed their main work activity in Denmark for more than 12 months during the two years immediately preceding the application deadline.
