Overview
Afya na Haki is seeking a full-time Doctoral or Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the Ubingwa Think Tank for Global Health. This one-year, competitively remunerated opportunity is designed for doctoral researchers and recently qualified PhD holders to contribute to research, evidence generation, policy analysis, and African thought leadership. The selected fellow will work within an Africa-centred research environment aimed at increasing the influence of African knowledge and leadership in global health policy and practice. The appointment is expected to commence in October 2026 and will be based at the Afya na Haki Secretariat in Gayaza/Nakwero, Uganda.
Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy specific doctoral-stage criteria and come from relevant disciplines:
- Hold a PhD awarded within the last two years, or be at the research or dissertation stage of a doctoral degree.
- Academic or ongoing research background in Law, Public Health, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Development Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, or another related interdisciplinary field.
- Demonstrated academic or professional engagement with health, human rights, global health, social justice, reproductive justice, health economics, digital health, climate and health, or access to medicines.
