Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator 2026: WFP Climate Innovation Opportunity for Scalable Solutions in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator 2026 invites organizations with scalable climate adaptation solutions to apply for support in strengthening resilience and food security. This edition specifically focuses on the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Peru.

Overview
The Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) 2026 is implemented by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Innovation Accelerator in partnership with the Adaptation Fund. The programme aims to support organizations with innovative climate adaptation solutions designed to strengthen resilience, improve food security, and assist vulnerable communities. This edition is particularly focused on initiatives implemented in or having strong potential for implementation in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Peru.
Rather than supporting early conceptual ideas, the programme targets solutions that have progressed beyond the idea or pre-seed phase and demonstrate a credible pathway toward implementation and scale. Accepted solutions can range from low-tech to high-tech innovations addressing areas such as climate-smart agriculture, early warning systems, water management, disaster risk management, climate-risk financing, and post-harvest loss reduction.
