The 2027 Safety Ambassador Fellowship is an opportunity for U.S.-based journalists dedicated to enhancing the safety and well-being of their colleagues and strengthening safety protocols in local newsrooms. Organized by the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) with backing from Press Forward, this initiative forms part of the broader Newsroom Safety Across America program. Selected Safety Ambassadors gain specialized knowledge, practical tools, mentorship, and hands-on experience in physical, digital, and psychosocial journalist safety, preparing them to serve as trusted advisors within their professional communities.
